Detailed Description

One such release is the Strathmill 24 Year Single Malt Scotch Whisky, an elegant and straightforward Scotch that is as versatile as it is delicious. Distilled in 1992 from 100% malted Scottish barley, the whisky was aged for over 2 decades in a combination of refill bourbon hogshead and refill sherry butts to slowly develop its sweet and fruity flavor profile before being tapped and bottled at a healthy 86 proof.

Alexander Murray & Co. Strathmill 24 Year (1992) Single Malt Scotch Whisky Tasting Notes

Nose: Buttery brioche dominates the nose of this whisky accented by fresh peach, ripe blueberry, clotted cream, citrus, and floral notes.

Palate: This then give way to smooth and invigorating palate of more citrus, malty bread, golden barley, caramel, and rich chocolate truffle.

Finish: An outstandingly long and sweet finish of more brioche notes.

Distillery Information

Strathmill is one of three distilleries within the Moray town of Keith at the heart of "Malt Whisky Country". Unlike Keith's other two distilleries of Strathisla and Glen Keith, however, Strathmill is not owned by Chivas (part of the Pernod Ricard group) but since 1997 by Diageo who operate it for the production of blends such as J&B whisky.
