A special release of Balcones's single barrel Texas malt to celebrate the distillery's fifth anniversary. This was finished in casks which used to hold Rumble (their spirit made from figs, sugar and honey) and bottled on December 12 2013 at 57.5%. Only 181 bottles were produced.

Released as part of the Balcones fifth anniversary, this Texas straight malt whisky was finished in a cask that previously held their Rumble Cask Reserve. These casks matured the Rumble (a unique spirit made from local wildflower honey, mission figs and turbinado sugar) for longer than usual because... Well, they had been all but forgotten about by Jared and the Balcones chaps. The finish has imparted a bright, fruity impression to the awesome Texan whisky.

Nose: Some initial molasses before spicy orchard fruits and blossom reveal themselves alongside rich figs, pepper and a whole stack of maple and pecan slices!
Palate: Heaped brown sugar in a pecan infused cup of coffee.
Finish: Big chunks of vanilla toffee. More please!
Distillery Information
Balcones Distilling was the first Texas whisky maker since prohibition. Although it was not the first distillery, Garrison Brothers is slightly older, it was the first to release a whisky. Founded by Chip Tate and Jared Himstedt in 2008, it has grown to become one of the largest craft distilleries in Texas, with an innovative and diverse core range of whiskies.
