Bushmills 16 Year Old Single Malt Irish Whiskey

Aged in a combination of Oloroso and Bourbon casks, and finished for several months in port wine barrels. This unique secondary maturation process gives the whiskey a distinct flavor profile, ripe with fruit, nuts and spice. At the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, this Bushmills single malt received a Gold in 2012, and a Double Gold in 2013.

Bushmills 16 Year Old Single Malt Irish Whiskey Tasting Notes

Nose: Aromas of juicy fruits, nuts and spice, as well as a hint of ruby redness.

Palate: Honey, caramelised fruits and toasted nuts.

Finish: Long deep finish, distinct berry and dark chocolate notes.

Distillery Information

Bushmills Distillery is a distillery in Bushmills, County Antrim, Northern Ireland. As of December 2014, it was in the process of transitioning from ownership by Diageo plc to Jose Cuervo. All of the whiskey bottled under the Bushmills whiskey brand is produced at the Bushmills Distillery and uses water drawn from Saint Columb's Rill, which is a tributary of the River Bush.
