Distilled in 1996 at Jamaica's Clarendon distillery, this immensely impressive rum spent the next quarter of a century maturing in a single ex-rum cask. That cask was selected by the splendid gang at Wealth Solutions, independently releasing a total of 253 bottles for The Colours of Rum collection at a robust cask strength of 67% ABV.

Nose: It's got the colours of an old cognac and indeed, it would start with notes of old cognac,

Palate: The palate offers a complex aroma of vanilla, wood, plum, chocolate

Finish: Mint leaves that linger in the finish.

Distillery Information

The distillery is owned for 73% by National Rums of Jamaica, a partnership between the Jamaican government, the West Indies Rum Distillery (owned since 2017 by Maison Ferrand), and Demerara Distillers. The other 27% is in the hands of Diageo, who use the majority of the distillery's production for Captain Morgan.
