The Dalmore Constellation Collection brings together the complete spectrum of vintages from the years 1964-1992 for the very first time. Created by Master Distiller Richard Paterson, this collection of single casks is highly sought after by collectors around the globe. This 1972 vintage has been matured in a single Oloroso sherry butt for 36 years before being finished in a bourbon barrel for 3 years.
Dalmore Constellation 1972 39 Year Old Cask 1 Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky Tasting Notes
Nose: Tangy Seville oranges laced with honeycomb, sandalwood and vanilla are followed by caramelised apricots, rose hip syrup and Ogen melon.
Palate: Moist fruitcake, spicy Matusalem oloroso sherry, orange rind and black maraschino cherries are replaced by toffee, ginger spice, chocolate mousse and Marsala.
Finish: Lingering.
Distillery Information
"The Dalmore" Distillery is located in Alness, which is 20 miles North of Inverness. It sits on the banks of the Cromarty Firth overlooking the Black Isle, the "big meadowland", from which it takes its name.
