Delamain 1977 Vintage Grande Champagne Cognac

Launched as part of their limited range, the Delamain Cognac Vintage 1977, as the name suggests, is made exclusively from Grande Champagne eaux-de-vie which were produced during the year 1977. These eaux-de-vie were then aged for 40 years in French Limousin oak barrels before being tapped, cut with pure water, and finally bottled.

Nose: Reddish amber in color, each sip of this cognac conveys an enticing aroma of plums, almond paste, and leather.

Palate: A rich, smooth, and complex palate of apricot, oranges, moist undergrowth, more leather, and notes of toasted oak.

Finish: A long and lingering finish of anise and orange marmalade.

Distillery Information

Ever since its establishment in 1759, the House of Delamain has been synonymous with ultra-premium cognac having produced some of the category’s finest bottlings for over 200 years. Based in Jarnac, France, the house is famed for forgoing the production of both VS and VSOP cognacs and, instead, making their 25-year-old XO expression as their gateway offering. This penchant for producing well-aged bottlings coupled with their well-cultivated reputation for crafting only the best has since endeared the house to many discerning drinkers who are able to fully appreciate the full range of flavors offered by their cognacs and are also willing to pay the price for the privilege of doing so.
