El Tinieblo Joven Mezcal

El Tinieblo Joven is produced using traditional methods by mezcalero Don Baltazar Cruz in the state of Tamaulipas. The agaves are cooked in an earthen pit, crushed with a tahona, and the fermented in open air wooden vats. Next, the spirit is doubled-distilled in copper stills and adjusted to a final ABV of 40%. El Tinieblo Mezcal Joven is twice-distilled from a blend of salmiana, americana (maguey), and espadin agaves. This silver mezcal is produced in Jiménez by Mezcales de Tamaulipas S de RLMI (NOM T40M).

Nose: Notes of black sea salt, sage and graphite on the nose.

Palate: A light smoky spiced pear flavor that is perfect on its own or on the rocks or in a cocktail.

Finish: Refrshing.
