Hellyers Road Aurora Australis Whisky | 700ML Tasting Notes

Nose: An immediate spring of fresh meadow grass and lifted tropical sweet notes come to the fore. Pine nuts, hints of melon and sultanas follow before subsiding to hints of lime marmalade fresh oak.

Palate: Subtle butterscotch and a shortbread shroud lay upon the palate. While delicate, a warming soul of subtle earthy and woody undertones present.

Finish: A soft and smooth expression with biscuit like nuances and hints of smouldering embers. This single malt mellows to a graceful finish.

Distillery Information

The trail was once bush – bush that in 1827 was carved out by Henry Hellyer, an explorer and cartographer who, according to local legend, had little more than a bullock gang and the most basic of tools. Today, this road once named in his honour is home to a whisky distillery now named in his honour.
