The folks at Hunt & Gather Spirits are all about that search for the exceptional stray barrels from some of the greatest distilleries. Those barrels that were somehow lost and nearly forgotten in the darkest parts of warehouses, maturing for extended periods of time. Their goal is to find these barrels and release them into the wild in the form of limited-edition releases such as this one. The first 2 releases were whiskey, but the team has already hinted of a very special rum release coming in the future. Lot #001 was a bold, full-bodied, and flavorful Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. The Hunt & Gather Rare Barrels & Lost Batches Lot No. 2 is even bigger. The high-corn whiskey was aged 15 years and comes from one of western Canada's pioneering distilleries.
