Detailed Description
Named for the 12th essay in The Federalist Papers, this Journeyman whiskey refers to Alexander Hamilton's proposal that the government should collect taxes on alcohol. That notion was known as the “whiskey tax” and was passed in 1791 and almost immediately led to outrage. Journeyman produced this rye whiskey in the style they believe may have been imbibed by America's forefathers.

Nose: Salted caramel and dried fruits open this spirit along with secondary whiffs of nuts and rye spice.
Palate: On the palate, there's a smooth richness and the rye is fantastically integrated revealing baking spices, black pepper, and cloves, among others.
Finish: There's a faint maraschino note on the long finish.
Distillery Information
Journeyman Distillery is located in a 19th century corset and buggy whip factory in Three Oaks, Michigan. EK Warren a hardcore prohibitionist in his time founded the company back in 1883 and the building where bottles are distilled, aged and bottled all under one roof hasn’t changed much. At Journeyman they focus on distilling handcrafted, organic spirits, from Gin, Vodka to all kinds of Whiskeys.
