                      Producer Information

Mommessin is a négociant based at Quincié-en-Beaujolais, making a range of wines from various appellations in Beaujolais, Burgundy and the Rhône. The Mommessin négociant business was purchased by Boisset in the 1990s and subsequently moved to Beaujolais. It had previously been a family firm, based in the Maconnais region and producing a wide range of wines from Burgundy appellations. Mommessin's main claim to fame was its purchase of the Clos de Tart Grand Cru in Morey-Saint-Denis in 1932, a property that the Mommessin family retained and owned until 2017 when it was sold to the billionaire François Pinault. Today, Mommessin makes wines from around the south and east of France. The Beaujolais line-up is headed by a Morgon Côte de Py and Morgon Les Charmes, followed by numerous village-level wines, Beaujolais-Villages, Beaujolais Nouveau and a Beaujolais Blanc Chardonnay. Burgundy wines include La Clé Saint Pierre Bourgogne Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, Macon-Villages and Côte de Beaune-Villages. A wide range of Rhône wines including Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas and Côtes-du-Rhône is produced under several labels. The portfolio is underpinned by the Cuvée Saint Pierre range of Vin de France wines.
