Detailed Description
A big fruity dram from Royal Brackla, which was given the name Royal when they supplied the King's court with single malt in the 1830's. Until recently, Royal Brackla was mainly used for blending. It is nice to see it as a single malt. Royal Brackla was the first distillery to be allowed to use the 'Royal' title, and 2015 saw it get its own range of single malts. Part of the Last Great Malts series, the 16 Year Old is finished in first-fill oloroso sherry casks.

Nose: Ripe red apple at first before thick crème brûlée takes charge with apricot, custard and a little Buttercup cough syrup.
Palate: Spicy, caramelised apples and orchard fruit, vanilla and fresh black cherries.
Finish: Rich cocoa and baking spices.
Distillery Information
Royal Brackla distillery is a Highland Scotch whisky distillery on the Cawdor Estate, near Nairn in Scotland. The distillery is operated by John Dewar & Sons Ltd for Bacardi. The Brackla distillery was built in 1812 by Captain William Fraser of Brackla House on the estate of Cawdor Castle.
