Detailed Description

Vinn Whiskey is distilled from rice, with fermentation begun by jiuqu, a starter similar to the Japanese koji used in making sake. The distilled spirit is then aged in new, American oak barrels at a level #4 char.

Vinn Whiskey Tasting Notes

Nose: There’s an earthy fermentedness here—aged gouda?—as well as a wholesome toasted-oat graininess, also a rich stone fruit note, like cooked peaches.

Palate: Mouth-coating and slightly oily, with the flavor balance leaning more towards grain. It’s almost floral on the back of the palate.

Finish: Some bitterness on the finish fades to rice pudding and confectioner’s sugar.

Founding Vinn distillery in 2009, Phan Ly’s homemade baijiu began finding its way onto the shelves of Portland’s local liquor stores, bringing flavours rich with heritage to a crowd thirsty for authenticity.
