Nose: The aroma opens with enticing notes of apple pie and cinnamon, complemented by dried fruits and exotic hints of papaya and tropical fruits, creating a rich and inviting bouquet.

Palate: On the palate, this rum delights with flavors of brown bread and crème brûlée, followed by caramelized sugar and highland toffee. The addition of star anise adds a spicy complexity that balances the sweetness.

Finish: The finish is long and satisfying, with notes of treacle and cardamom, and a lingering fruit slice flavor that encapsulates the tropical essence of the rum.

Distillery Information

United Fruit Company purchased Monymusk in 1929, then sold it to the West Indies Sugar Company (WISC) in 1937. The following year, WISC announced plans to build a central rum distillery at “Old Monymusk.” That distillery didn't last long, as a bigger factory (“New Monymusk”) was built in 1949.
