Detailed Description

Distilled at the historic Barton 1792 Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky—known as the Bourbon Capital of the World—our Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey was emptied from the finest charred American White Oak casks after many years of aging. Once refilled in carefully selected Cognac casks, it was left to mature in the upper parts of the rickhouse to encourage interaction between the bourbon whiskey and the secondary cask. This maturation contributes to the harmonious flavor profile consisting of rich stone fruit, bananas foster, and vanilla notes.

Distillery Information

Barton 1792 Distillery claims to be the oldest fully operating operating distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky. The property was actually founded by Tom Moore in 1879, but is now named after the year in which Kentucky joined the United States. Tucked away in a ravine, for much of its history the distillery had a low profile plus numerous owners and name changes. Its post-Prohibition history began in 1944 when it was bought by Oscar Getz's Barton Brands. It was then purchased by Constellation in 1999, before passing to Sazerac who gave the distillery its current name and opened a visitor centre to promote the brand. The 79 hectare (196 acre) site includes a still house, 29 aging warehouses, 21 other buildings and the Tom Moore Spring. The 1940s redbrick distillery uses a number of mashbills, its own yeast, and boasts a copper-headed column beer still.
