        Reviews:

        • Wine Advocate: The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon bursts with finesse and precision, the 15-year-old wine is immaculate, fresh, vibrant and is in great shape. The wine is at an impeccable point of life right now with a juicy frame, where the heart of the wine has had sufficient enough time to come together and harmonize, becoming seamless in the glass.
        • Vinous: Good deep ruby-red. Cassis, licorice pastille, violet, incense and sexy smoky oak on the nose. Densely packed, intense and sweet but the most backward and primary of these 2006s. Wonderfully full, chocolatey fruit saturates the palate. Quilceda Creek's flagship bottling has become more of a competition wine lately than this producer's examples in the '80s and '90s, but this very powerful wine boasts greater vibrancy and focus than recent vintages and seems as much Pauillac in character as Napa Valley cult wine. Finishes ripe but classically dry, with terrific medicinal reserve and slowly building tannins that reach the front teeth. A bit youthfully monolithic now, this really demands cellaring.

The winery's focus is on Cabernet Sauvignon, which has been very well received: the 2002 Quilceda Creek Cabernet Sauvignon was the first American wine outside of California to be awarded 100 points by US wine critic Robert Parker. The winery was founded in 1978 by Alex Golitzin, who was inspired to make wine by his uncle, the now legendary André Tchelistcheff – one of the most significant winemakers in California at the time. Alex Golitzin's son, Paul, began working at the winery in 1992 and is now the winemaker.Quilceda only produces a small number of wines, and the flagship is the Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. The fruit for this is sourced from some of the best Washington vineyards in Red Mountain and Horse Heaven Hills, including the Galitzine Vineyard, the Wallula Vineyard and the Palengat Vineyard.
