Castellroig is located in the 17th century Can Serra farmhouse, completely surrounded by vineyards. Specifically, the winery owns 23 hectares of vineyard, spread among this estate, located in the township of Subirats, and others in Sant Pere de Riudebitlles and Torrelavit. Specifically, the winery owns 23 hectares of vineyard, spread among this estate, located in the township of Subirats, and others in Sant Pere de Riudebitlles and Torrelavit. The Sabaté and Coca families have been growing vines for at least four generations and used to sell grapes to local cava and winemakers. The paterfamilias of the current generation started reorienting the family business towards winemaking, guided by a philosophy that compels them to search for the best quality possible. To achieve this, they begin by selecting the best vineyards, where they grow vines of the white varieties Xarel·lo (mainly), Macabeo, Parellada and Chardonnay and the red varieties Tempranillo, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Trepat. The next step is a meticulous winemaking process that culminates with a range of designer wines with a clearly defined character. Currently, the winery produces about 120,000 bottles a year (65% cava).
