2015 | Agricole Querciabella | Camartina

First produced in 1981, Camartina is the signature Super Tuscan blend of Querciabella. Only produced in exceptional vintages, it is a blend of predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon with Sangiovese sourced from organically and biodynamically farmed vineyards situated close to the winery in Ruffoli, on the hillside of Greve in Chianti.
Deep ruby red in colour, the fabulous 2015 offers up generous aromas of black and red berries, forest floor, leather, sweet tobacco and liquorice. Full-bodied yet silky, superbly integrated tannins provide ample support and bright acidity brings welcome freshness. Though tempting to drink already, this will be even better after 3-5 more years in bottle.

• Wine Spectator: this is very racy and firm on the palate, yet the exotic and wild fruit of the beautiful vintage comes through. Medium-to full-bodied with an intense finish. Needs a few years to soften. Cabernet sauvignon and sangiovese. Better in 2020. From biodynamically grown grapes and vegan.
