2019 | Priest Ranch | Cabernet Sauvignon

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is a beautiful, full-bodied Napa Valley wine. On the nose, this wine has hints of cherry cola, vanilla, and dark fruit. The finish is a rounded mouthfeel that is persistent in the long and lingering opulent finish.

• Wine Advocate: Hints of bay leaf appear on the blueberry and cassis-rich nose of Priest Ranch's 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon. It's full-bodied and ripe, with a somewhat expansive and gently velvety mouthfeel, vanilla notes and a long, soft finish. It strikes me as a wine meant for early consumption.

• James Suckling: Aromas of baked black fruit, chocolate and fresh thyme. Full-bodied with juicy black fruit. Succulent. Velvety tannins. I like the bright, carrying acidity here.

Priest Ranch wines are grown and made at the Somerston Estate in the Eastern Hills of Napa Valley. The eastern part of the Somerston property was originally settled by Joshua James Priest who arrived in California in 1849. Priest gained title to 638 acres of the Catacula land grant in Soda Valley and he and his descendants managed to hold on to most of the ranch for over a century. Today, all the Priest Ranch wines are 100% Estate Grown and made from selected vineyard blocks that express integrated and intensely rich, yet approachable qualities. Priest Ranch wines represent the diversity and richness of the Somerston Estate.
