In 2008, California-based accountant Varuzhan Mouradian followed his dream to study oenology and vineyard management at U.C. Davis, and later to make wine in the ancient landscape where his ancestors once lived. The label's name derives from the historical Armenian capital where Mouradian traces his lineage.
