Balcones Distillery Lineage 4 Single Malt Whisky Tasting Notes

Nose: Sweet and indulgent, sourdough starter and cream soda, mulled cider, bruised bananas and peaches, tea tree

Palate: "Caramelized sweetness, soft oak, manuka honey, chestnuts and hint of red wine reduction."

Finish: "Late palate builds into the transition to finish, slight prickle with more tea tree, black tea and hint of cinnamon."

Distillery Information

Balcones was founded in 2008 and began distilling in 2009. The original distillery, built mostly by hand, existed until 2015. In early 2016, the building that had long served as a barrel warehouse became the new home of Balcones.
