The Summer 2023 Distiller’s Cut combines an unsmoked malt whiskey matured in new American white oak and finished in Rhum Agricole casks with a portion of mesquite-smoked American single malt drawn from a used tequila barrel. This layered approach brings together the sweetness of malt and oak with bright cane-sugar character and subtle Southwestern smokiness. The result is a distinctive whiskey balancing rich wood, fruit-driven sweetness, and earthy smoke.

Nose: Sweet malt, toasted oak, ripe stone fruit, and vanilla, with hints of cane sugar and gentle mesquite smoke.

Whiskey Del Bac is produced by Hamilton Distillers, a family-founded craft distillery in Tucson, Arizona. The idea began with Elaine and Stephen Paul, who explored creating an American single malt inspired by Scotch whisky but shaped by the flavors of the American Southwest. The distillery became known for using mesquite-smoked malt as a regional alternative to traditional peat, alongside unsmoked single malt expressions. Its production centers on malted barley, copper-pot distillation, and aging in the Sonoran Desert climate. Whiskey Del Bac combines established single malt techniques with a distinctly Southwestern approach to whiskey-making.
