Chichibu distillery is a small distillery with only nine full-time employees. The distillery is owned by Venture whisky, which was founded in 2004 in Chichibu city, Saitama, just outside of Tokyo (hence its name). This particular Ichiro’s Malt Chichibu is a new release that is bursting with flavour. This is one that every fan of Japanese whisky should enjoy, a real delight.

Ichiro’s Malt – Chichibu 2018 S Whisky Tasting Notes

Nose: Full-bodied, smooth. A mellow peat softly coats the aromatic palette at first, growing more powerful with time.

Palate: Smooth and soft with good sweetness and winter spice.

Finish: Finish is long, spicy and smooth.

Distillery Information

Chichibu distillery is a Japanese whisky distillery. Founded in 2004 by Ichiro Akuto, and operational from 2008, it was the first new Japanese distillery since 1973. It is located at Chichibu, a city in Saitama Prefecture, Japan.
