The whiskey is cask strength 57.3%. This limited edition of 1260 Springbank is a framing of 6 ex-bourbon casks from 1998 with consecutive numbers, specially selected by Frank McHardy and the well-known whiskey writer and journalist Hans Offringa for Fourcroy Nederland, the importer of Springbank.
Springbank 12 Year Old Cask Strenght Blues Edition Tasting Notes
Nose: True Springbank style, full and round with waxy notes, salty coastal notes (shells) and barnyard scents (hay, grass), resinous (pine needles) then aromas of vanilla and oranges.
Palate: Full aromas of the wood, greasy and oily notes, slightly salty, spicy and liqueur-like aromas of lime and orange.
Finish: The finish is long, round with very light smoky notes, citrus fruit and creamy aromas.
Distillery Information
The Springbank distillery is a family-owned single malt whisky distillery on the Kintyre Peninsula in western Scotland. It is owned by J & A Mitchell & Company, who also owns the Glengyle Distillery, the oldest independent bottler, William Cadenheads, and several blended scotch labels.
