Springbank 1999 SMS is a 11 year old Single Malt whisky from Scotland. Bottled in 22.10.2010 at 53% this bottle will make a fine addition to any Scotland Single Malt whisky lover. Please note that this Speciality Drinks Ltd (SMS) is Sherry Cask. It is also worth mentioning that this is uncolored, non-chillfiltered, cask strength, single cask whisky edition of Springbank. This is one of only 83 bottles ever produced. A fact, that makes this edition even more desirable.
Springbank 1999 SMS 11 Years Old Tasting Notes
Nose: Sherry led. Cigar tobacco and oiled leather. Cocoa dusted blood oranges. Dark raisins. New oak. Smoke in the distance.
Palate: Rich and vigorous. Dates and raisins. Allspice. Chewing tobacco. Cherries jubilee. Cooking chocolate late. More subtle smoke, and some wet wood.
Finish: Fruit cake. Long, dry, woody, and smoky.
Distillery Information
The Springbank distillery is a family-owned single malt whisky distillery on the Kintyre Peninsula in western Scotland. It is owned by J & A Mitchell & Company, who also owns the Glengyle Distillery, the oldest independent bottler, William Cadenheads, and several blended scotch labels.
