Yamazakura 15 Year Old Sherry Wood Finish Cask Strength Whisky

Sasanokawa Shuzo Co. Ltd was founded in 1765 and has been producing whisky since 1946, making it one of Japan’s older distilleries. An unblended whisky is used in this product and is aged over 20 year. For the first 15 year, it aged in casks, before it was moved to tanks. Finally, it was returned to casks to complete its maturation. Only 20 bottles of this were ever produced, making it a very rare item.

Nose: A strong peaty nose.

Palate: Smooth and soft with good sweetness and winter spice.

Finish: Finish is long, spicy and smooth.
