Reviews:
- Jasper Morris: Caroline’s holding is in the centre of the vineyard, with rows running from top to bottom. Lovely primrose colour here ... Excellent intensity with stone-licking minerality, and a huge volume of concentrated fruit to soak it up. Very fine.
Producer Information
Caroline Morey is a leading Burgundian winemaker with a domaine based in Chassagne-Montrachet. This was founded in 2014 after she took over a portion of the family vineyards on the retirement of her father, Jean-Marc. Initial holdings amounted to around 2.4 hectares. More plots have been added and there are now around 7ha (17 acres) of vines, split roughly 35:65 between Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The wines are made in the same winery as Domaine Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey, the estate she runs with her husband. Winemaking involves indigenous yeasts, fermentation and aging mainly in 350-liter oak barrels (for less overt oakiness), and white-winemaking without battonage.
