        Reviews:

        • VertdeVin: The nose offers a small power and freshness. It reveals notes of violet, cassis, small notes of rose petal, iris associated with touches of small crunchy/acidulous red fruits as well as very fine hints of toasted, nutmeg and chocolate. The palate is mineral, finely tight, elegant, well-balanced and offers a good definition, a beautiful balance, juiciness as well as freshness and roundness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/fleshy cassis, fleshy/pulpy blackberry, small notes of fresh/crunchy raspberry associated with touches of small acidulous/Crunchy red berries, iris, lilac as well as fine hints of chocolate, toasted and cardamom. Good length. Tannins are finely sticky. Very discreet hints of crushed almond on the persistence.
        • James Suckling: Blueberries and cocoa powder, as well as lavender and blackberries on the nose. Full-bodied with tight, focused tannins that are lean and racy, in a clear way. Just a hint of tar and ash at the end. Chewy and fine.

        Producer Information

Château Plince is a 10 hectare (25 acre) estate in Bordeaux's Pomerol region. The Moreau family dedicate the entirety of their vineyards to the production of a single Merlot-dominant Bordeaux blend, making approximately 50,000 bottles per year. The vineyards extend over 9ha (22 acres), 84 percent of which is planted to Merlot, with the remaining to Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. In a break from the vast majority of estates in Pomerol, Château Plince harvests its vineyards by machine. Vinification is carried out in thermoregulated concrete vats for three to four weeks. The Château Plince wine spends between 12 to 18 months aging in oak barrels.
