The history of the Barba family marks the course of a long period. The Barba family comes from far away and brings with them the legacy of ancient traditions. The first traces date back to the Neapolitan fifteenth century, where we find our ancestor Francesco Barba, abbot and canon under the pontificate of Sixtus IV. As time passed, the Barbas moved towards Abruzzo, in the province of Teramo: this is confirmed by the registers of the land register which, in the mid-eighteenth century, indicated Carlo Barba as the owner of many properties in the locality of Santa Margherita di Atri, in the plains of Casoli and Fontanelle. It is the beginning of our land ownership, of our history, to which subsequent generations will contribute in a decisive way. The entry into modernity took place at the end of the 1950s, when the Cavaliere del Lavoro Luigi Barba definitively closed the sharecropping past and inaugurated the direct management of the company, equipping it with cutting-edge systems and infrastructures. Since the 1960s, the Barba family has also operated in other fields (production of brick www.siailaterizi.it ), but maintains land and agriculture as its core business, with the same tenacity, the same dedication, the same capacity for innovation who have accompanied her over the years, pushing her to project herself, one furrow after another, towards the future.
