Bruichladdich 23 Year Old 1990 Black Art 4th Edition Unpeated Single Malt Scotch Whisky

From Bruichladdich, comes this unpeated Islay whisky, the fourth Black Art release. Distilled in 1990, and bottled in 2013, this 23 year old whisky is matured in a variety of American and French oak barrels, the exact nature of which are known only to Master Distiller Jim McEwan.

Nose: An unusual bouquet, with hints of sherry, Bordeaux wine, and perhaps even Sauternes wine blended with fresh lemon peel, honey and the slightest hint of salt air.

Palate: On the palate, this whisky is exotic and exhibits lots of fruit notes. Fresh papaya abounds, with coconut, chocolate, mango and star anise notes.

Finish: Finishing with nice oak, a bit of cereal grains, and peach crisp.

Distillery Information

Bruichladdich is an award-winning distillery employing generations of distilling knowledge and the principle of minimal intervention. Built in 1881 on the wild Scottish island of Islay, their distillery still uses the original Victorian equipment to create a range of single malt whiskies that are trickle distilled, matured and bottled solely on Islay by a skilled team of men and women.
