Detailed Description

Distilled at The GlenAllachie distillery in Speyside, this single malt has been matured for 10 years in a combination of first fill bourbon, virgin oak, Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso sherry puncheons before being selected by Master Distiller Billy Walker for bottling at natural cask strength. This second batch is limited to just 3,000 cases worldwide and is presented at 54.8% abv without any chill filtration or artificial colouring.

Nose: Heather honey and toffee apples with a sweet spice and orange peel notes.

Palate: Plenty of heather honey, creamy vanilla and sweet toffee with a touch of eucalyptus.

Finish: Orange peel and sweet spice lingering on.

Distillery Information

Glenallachie is a malt whisky distillery on Speyside at Aberlour founded in 1967. It has mainly produced whisky for blends. Under Chivas ownership it released 2 official bottlings at cask strength, one of 16 and one of 18 years old. A new core range of 10, 12, 18 and 25 year old whisky was released in 2018 under the new ownership, as well as additional single cask releases.
