Inchmurrin Madeira Wood Finish Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Inchmurrin as the name of a style of single malt distilled at Loch Lomond distillery, alongside the single malt that carries the distillery's own name. Rebranded under new ownership in 2015, the new packaging makes this link much clearer. The rebranding also saw this new release join the range, finished in ex-Madeira wine casks.

Nose: Fresh citrus with notes of marzipan and nutmeg emerging.

Palate: Velvety smooth with soft peach notes and fig, walnut and rich butterscotch running over the top.

Finish: Long and dry with grape, oak and nuts.

Distillery Information

Loch Lomond Distillery was commissioned by the Littlemill Distilling Company in 1964 with first distillation in 1966. In 1984, the distillery closed - or fell silent, to use the traditional term. Happily though, Alexander Bulloch and the Glen Catrine company acquired the business and resumed malt production in 1987. Grain whisky production began in 1993 and two new malt stills were added in 1999.
