Geisha are traditional Japanese artists who are professionals in music, singing, dancing, and social networking. Only the most beautiful and smart young girls can be selected as apprentices of Geisha and they have to go through many years of tough training to achieve mastership. Geishas are well respected in Japan and seen as safeguards to Japanese traditional art. This particular bottle is a Vintage 1999 & 2000. It was released in 2017 with only 324 bottles ever released. As with all Karuizawa releases, it’s highly collectible.

Nose: Extremely nutty, walnuts, hazel nuts, peanuts, coconut, all kinds of nuts, chocolate, cocoa powder, sherry notes

Palate: Punchy, creamy, subtle sweetness, little fruity, apricots, apples, nutty, sherry wood, spices, little herbal

Finish: Long, warm, zesty, little fruity, more on old furniture

Distillery Information

Karuizawa distillery was a Japanese whisky distillery. It was located at Miyota, a town on the southern slopes of an active complex volcano, Mount Asama, in Kitasaku District, Nagano Prefecture, Japan. Established in 1955, the distillery began production in 1956.
