A really intense experience. The nose is amazing, busy arrival, full of flavor. The development becomes slightly more sour-bitter and the finish is long with a lot of over-brewed tea and spices.
Glendronach 1962 GM 25 Year Tasting Notes
Nose: Dried fruits, cinnamon and cocoa immediately. After a while the nose settles and becomes softer. Dried apples, cherries and bitter marzipan develops. Becomes absolutely stunning after 25-30 minutes in the glass.
Palate: The arrival is quite intense, feels higher in alcohol than the 43%. Leather notes and tobacco stars to develop with balsamic vinegar and an oaky bitterness. Slightly burned as the development goes into the finish
Finish: The finish is long and huge on over-brewed black tea. After a few minutes overripe banana, brown sugar and hints of licorice appear. A bit too bitter in my opinion but a range of flavors remains behind the bitter tea for quite some time to back it up.
