The mash bill is 99% corn and 1% malted barley. The whiskey is aged a minimum of 2 years and is unique in the fact that the company has resurrected the Old Hamer brand that was once known for making some of the finest whiskey of the 19th century.
Old Hamer 80 Proof Straight Bourbon Whiskey Tasting Notes
Nose: On the nose, sweet flavors of vanilla candy, caramel wafer, butterscotch candies, dehydrated orange segments, cinnamon, and clove.
Palate: On the palate, sweet flavors from the nose take the lead before giving way to cinnamon and oak spice.
Finish: The finish is quite nice with fruit fading slowly into spice with a pleasant nuttiness in the mix throughout.
