      Very dark ruby-garnet. Intense aromas of ripe fruit, fresh porcini and toasty oak. Full-bodied, with fabulous texture of velvety and complex fruit character. Incredibly long.

This full-bodied, superbly concentrated, layered, multidimensional Brunello is the kind of wine one expects from such a renowned region, but so rarely receives.
        • Vinous: Saturated garnet, with purple hues. Intense aromas of powdered cocoa, cinnamon and spicy cedar are followed by a sweet, wonderfully delineated entry of licorice, plum jam, roasted coffee and tar. Big-boned and vibrant, with a creamy, mouthfilling texture and gauzy tannins. The long, sweet finish is reminiscent of marzipan. This complex and supple wine is a paradigm of how to combine power and elegance.

        Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona is an estate in Castelnuovo dell'Abate, Tuscany. It is known for its Brunello di Montalcino wines which have been well-received by critics and highly awarded. Giuseppe Bianchini inherited the estate in 1985 and with his two sons, transformed the estate into a top producer of Montalcino. The construction of the Molinello winery was completed in the late 90s. It compliments the historic Palazzo cellar of which is used for preserving the oldest vintages produced by the company. The wine portfolio is led with three different Brunellos. The Pianrosso cuvée is sourced from the 12 hectare (29-acre) vineyard of the same name. Fermented in stainless steel and glass-lined concrete vats it is aged for 36 months in large Slavonian oak casks. The Pianrosso Santa Caterina d'Oro Riserva comes from the same vineyard, but spends longer in oak and bottle before release, only produced in exceptional vintages. Ciacchi Piccolomini's 'standard' Annata wine is sourced from the estate's Brunello vineyards and is aged in barrel for 24 months. Alongside Brunello, two Sant'Antimo DOC wines and a Brunello grappa are also included in the portfolio.
