        Reviews:

        • Wine Advocate: The 2004 Brut Millesime Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Belemnita is all about precision and focus. The aroma and flavors are nicely chiseled, while veins of persistent, finely knit minerality provide support. There is a lot to like in this crystalline, beautifully articulate Champagne from Gonet. The pedigree of this great Chardonnay vintage comes through in spades.

Located under the family home are the Champagne Philippe Gonet cellars. Dating back to 1783, they were hollowed out of the Champagne region’s chalk, revealing fossils on some of the walls. The house’s Cuvée de Prestige is the namesake of these fossils. It is the story of an encounter. A historical vineyard, cultivated for almost two centuries by the same family, meets the seventh generation: a brother and a sister at the helm before their time.A fantastic adventure began for both brother, then 22 years old and sister, 23, when they decided to take over the reins of the family business and follow in the footsteps of their father who had passed away three years earlier. They took upon this difficult task with the ardour they inherited from the 6 generations of passionate farmers and winegrowers before them.Pierre and Chantal, with their contrasting yet complementary personalities, share the same vision in making Champagne Philippe Gonet a winemaking reference in Le Mesnil, known worldwide for its exceptional quality wines that express the rich, pure, nuanced and mineral character of their choice terroir: Le Mesnil-sur-Oger.
