          Producer Information

The estate was created in 1929 by great-grandfather Robert Joillot, a winegrower and nurseryman in Pommard. Robert Joillot marries Marthe Popille, the daughter of the baker from Pommard. From their union, Georges Joillot was born on January 15, 1934. Georges succeeded his father until his sudden death in 1971, leaving his son Jean-Luc Joillot, then aged 10, and his wife Simone Joillot (nĂ©e Porcheray) to whom the heavy task was entrusted to take care of the exploitation. The activity is then twofold: Wine growing and the production of vine plants. In 1981, Jean-Luc Joillot, third generation of the Domaine, aged 20 and in collaboration with his mother Simone Joillot, took up the torch. Six hectares of vines are then exploited, under the new label “Domaine Jean-Luc Joillot”. In the 1990s, Jean-Luc Joillot married Lydia Joillot (nĂ©e Dssaisnt), together they developed the Domaine by exporting the wines abroad and acquired a parcel of Pommard 1er Cru “Les Charmots” and a parcel of Pommard 1er Cru “ The Epenots”. From their alliance, Lydia gave birth to their daughter Jeanne Joillot in 1995. In 2015, Simon Goutard, Lydia's son from her previous marriage, trained as a winemaker with his father-in-law Jean-Luc. A passion for wine then began for Simon! In 2017, Jeanne, Jean-Luc's daughter, trained in accounting/management and worked within the family estate. And it was in 2018 that GrĂ©goire Guidot, Jeanne's partner, joined the Domaine. In February 2019 the new and fourth generation took over the family farm which currently has 14 hectares of vines. Thus, Jeanne Joillot, Jean-Luc's daughter, Simon Goutard his son-in-law and GrĂ©goire Guidot his son-in-law perpetuate the tradition while modernizing the estate. From the 2019 vintage and in homage to Jean-Luc's father, the "Domaine Jean-Luc Joillot" is renamed "Domaine Georges Joillot". An identity is reborn and a new style of wine is created.
