Fombrauge has belonged to the lords of Canolle since the 15th century, the latter having made the lands grow, the vine in particular. The Chartreuse presents the characteristics of a large rural house at the end of the 17th century, Fombrauge then belonged to Jacques Dumas, adviser to the Parliament of Guyenne.
