Producer Information
High Dive is a brand for Napa Valley red wine founded in 2014, and made in Oakville. It was founded as a collaboration between Yoav Gilat of Cannonball Wines and winemakers Scott Palazzo (Palazzo Wine) and Peter Heitz. Gilat is also a professional scuba diver, hence the High Dive and Cannonball names. The aim is to create an elegant Cabernet blend, influenced by the Left Bank of Bordeaux, with more classically-styled restraint than some examples from the region. The first vintage (2014) was sent to market in early 2017. The wine is based on Cabernet Sauvignon. Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot play supporting roles. Fruit is sourced from Oakville AVA (for ripe fruit and richness) and from Carneros for more acidity, freshness and finesse.
