Aromas of dark fruit, approaching black cherry, chocolate and tobacco along with cherry liqueur and lavender. Bright Areni fruit jumps out of the glass. The initial mouthfeel is that of big gulp of fruit, mainly cherries approaching cherry cola. It has good acidity and structure. The tannins have been softened and tamed by the Caucasian oak, and at the end chocolate and dried fruit emerge and add complexity to this easy drinking wine..

Producer Information

It all started when two college friends, Riccardo Gagliardi and Arsen Zadoyan, found an old vine Areni vineyard in the Vayots Dzor region, established a winery and called it Rikars (Rik for Riccardo and Ars for Arsen). Riccardo and his family have been making wine in Tuscany for few generations, so he brought his winemaking skills, while Arsen brought local know how. Davit is one of the two wines they are making and they are making them very well.
