Deep garnet-black colored, it gallops out of the glass with bold notes of crème de cassis, black plums and boysenberries, plus hints of cedar chest, pencil lead, tilled soil and tar, with wafts of cumin seed and menthol. Full-bodied, the palate is taut and muscular, featuring firm, grainy tannins supporting the layers of tightly wound, impactful and wonderfully pure black fruits, finishing with an impressive display of mineral sparks.

Jayson Woodbridge, owner/winemaker of Hundred Acre & Fortunate Son, is a renegade vintner. Robert Parker describes Jayson as "one of the wine world's most compelling, outspoken, irreverent, bigger-than-life personalities, who can get away with just about anything he wants to say or do simply because year after year he proves what great wine is all about." Since his first vintage in 2000, he has consistently produced the most opulent, luxurious, critically revered, and sought-after wines in the Napa Valley. Parker has bequeathed a bevy of 100-point scores to his wines, making for a waitlist of over five years to acquire them from the winery. Hundred Acre has received over TWENTY 100-point scores from Parker and the Wine Advocate! With the launch of Fortunate Son Wines, Jayson is looking to add another "championship belt" to his collection; and we at ACME are sitting ringside, ready to cheer on his new knock-out lineup.
