The first edition of this type hit the market in 1987 and it was today the legendary 1963 Vintage finished in Oloroso sherry butts. However, the real harbinger of the "finished" Glenmorangie was Port Wood Finish, which debuted in 1994 two years ahead of Sherry Wood Finish. After a 10-year maturation in bourbon casks, the whiskey spent the next several months in Oloroso sherry butts. The new incarnation of Sherry Wood Finish since 2007 is Lasanta.
