Hendrick's Midsummer Solstice Limited Edition | 750ML Tasting Notes

Nose: Lilac, chamomile, a whisper of raspberry, fragrant juniper and some grassy freshness.

Palate: Coriander, red berries, honey, swiftly followed by another generous wave of vibrant floral elements.

Finish: The final juniper notes are a touch oaky, with rose and clementine in support.

Distillery Information

Hendrick's Gin in it's distinctive apothecary-style bottle is a floral gin produced by William Grant & Sons in Scotland. Launched in 1999, the brand rapidly found success within the international spirits industry. The botanical profile of Hendrick's gin is particularly floral with the inclusion of chamomile, elderflower and Bulgarian rose to compliment the lemon peel, orange peel, cubeb berries and of course, juniper. The addition of angelica root, yarrow root and orris root add structure and a distinct backbone to the flavor profile whilst the infusion of cucumber adds freshness. Hendrick's was invented by Lesly Gracie, who was appointed by William Grant & Sons to develop a super-premium gin. Hendrick's is named after a well-loved gardener Hendrick who worked for the Grant family at the time of incpetion. Hendrick had a particular knack for growing roses. Since 1999, the brand has expanded with Hendrick's Solstice gin with floral botanicals, Hendrick's Orbium gin of which includes blue lotus, cinchona and wormwood as well as a Hendrick's absinthe. The most recent addition is Hendrick's Neptunia gin with sea kelp and coastal thyme. The distillation process of of Hendrick's is particularly unique. The brand utilizes two different stills: the Bennet is a traditional copper pot variety whilst the second is a rare Carterhead still of which was constructed in 1948. The spirit derived from the Carterhead still comparitvely has a much more subtle distillate. The bottled Hendrick's gin is a blend from the two stills with an addition of cucumber and rose petal essences.
