The Old Malt Cask series was launched in 1998 and 25 years on Hunter Laing is celebrating by releasing new whisky. That includes this Linkwood single malt, aged in a single sherry butt for 13 years, yielding a total of 762 bottles.

Nose: Butter shortbread, vanilla, and red berries.

Palate: Sweet apples, buttered toast, and gentle spice.

Finish: Long, with lingering pepper.

Distillery Information

An unsung hero in the world of single malts, Linkwood Distillery was established by Peter Brown in 1821, but wouldn't see production for another four years. Located on the outskirts of Elgin in the Speyside region, the distillery remained in the Brown family until the end of the nineteenth century.
