Leyenda Puebla is made with 100% agave Tobalá (Potatorum), which is sustainably harvested from a semi-wild agave field in the northern valleys of the state of Puebla. The field is owned and operated by the Alva family. According to Leyenda, this is the largest field of sustainably cultivated agave Tobalá in Mexico. This mezcal is made by Don Aaron Valentin Alva Ibanez, who is a 4th generation mezcalero. His father, Don Federico, still helps him with many of the batches.
Mezcales de Leyende Puebla Mezcal Tasting Notes
Nose: A light campfire smoke marries fantastically with dulce de leche and apple cake aromas in this spirit's fantastic nose.
Palate: The palate shows more dry and mineral flavors with a blast of sea salt and brined lemon that carry a delicious savory character.
Finish: The finish has a pleasant spice note and lingering mango fruit flavors.
Distillery Information
Don Aaron is a 4th generation mezcalero and has been honing his practice since his childhood. His father, Don Federico, supervises the production process.
