'Ole George' 100% Straight Rye Whiskey, named after the grandfather of Grand Traverse Distillery’s founder, takes its cue from Grandpa George’s secret still in the barn of their northern Michigan farm. It is 100% rye grain and aged to a deep copper color that catches the light so brilliantly you’d think you’re staring at our own still. Impeccably balanced, this intense whiskey is earthy and smooth, with obvious notes of pepper and bread dough, elevated by the subtleties of praline, allspice, and vanilla. Ole George is GTD’s most awarded spirit, including the 2017 Double Gold by 'The 50 Best', and the 2017 Gold Medal by the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, among numerous others.
