Distilled in Campbeltown at Springbank distillery, this release has been bottled by Glasgow based independent bottler, North Star. This expression was distilled in the year 2000 and was put down to mature in a refill barrel for 21 years. Part of a limited release of 238 bottles, this whisky has been bottled at a strength of 45.2% abv.
Springbank 2000 North Star Spirits 21 Year Old Tasting Notes
Palate: sweet sour cream, braised artichokes, gentle plaster and caulk, sea breeze and ocean salt, gentle sheep wool from the old partial peet, then a beautiful finish of sweet cloudberry conserve/jam on pancakes.
Distillery Information
The Springbank distillery is a family-owned single malt whisky distillery on the Kintyre Peninsula in western Scotland. It is owned by J & A Mitchell & Company, who also owns the Glengyle Distillery, the oldest independent bottler, William Cadenheads, and several blended scotch labels.
