Detailed Description

This is a 9 year old whisky produced in the Cognac region (it goes without saying, this is an area with considerable spirits history) from organic local barley produced in Poitou-Charentes. The whisky is distilled in traditional copper pot stills and aged in former Cognac casks made from Limousin French Oak casks. A tremendously fruity single malt whisky, and incredibly powerful at a massive 67.8% ABV.

Vicomte Cask Strength Single Malt French Whiskey Tasting Notes

Nose: Full of overripe fruit, chocolate-covered cherries, and old-school candy shop sweets.

Palate: The palate has strong cherry notesā€“maraschino cherries, sour cherries in syrup, even Cherry cokeā€“but with the sweetness well under control.

Finish: Medium-long with spicy finish.

Vicomte is produced at a century old, small French distillery, using 100% organic natural barley, grown and harvested from the Poitou-Charentes region of France. Distilled twice in copper alembic (pot) stills.
