Woven Experience No.9 | 500ML

The gang at Woven Whisky based in Leith travels all over Scotland in search of delicious whiskies to include in its blends, with the aim of delivering unique drinking experiences. This expression pays tribute to whiskies from closer to their home though, celebrating the lost blends of Leith, and mirroring the vibrant melting-pot of creative people and ideas that can be found in the region. A blend of Campletown whiskies is combined with old Loch Lomond grain whisky, sherried single malt from Glentauchers, rounded off with some younger Loch Lomond grain.

Woven Experience No.9 | 500ML Tasting Notes

Nose: Slightly fruity and nutty nose. In connection with some milk chocolate and cherry. More complex than expected. Mild but interesting. In the background some grain and glucose.

Palate: Sweet and mild. Almost reminiscent of a liqueur.
But then some spice follows. Surprisingly powerful for a blend. The sweetness remains, becomes a honey sweetness. With time in the mouth it becomes more and more fruity. Yellow fruits and lemon as well as cereals.

Finish: The lemon now dominates. The sweetness remains, as does the honey and grain. Then it becomes a bit dry and bitter.

We are friends who believe that there’s more to blended whisky. A lot more. And while our home is a blending studio in Leith, our mission is global. We want to make this industry, this art, much more human. Much more experimental. Much less industrialised. Much more experiential.Much more, well, fun. But we know we can’t do it alone.
